45 and the new border plan - samintx - 11-24-2018 I cannot believe this will work. 45 in talks to keep the ‘mob asylum’ seekers in Mexico till their case was being heard. No details..are buildings to house, sanitary facilities ? Criime cities where they are now. Stay tuned. Is 45 footing any of the bill? What are we giving Mexico to do this border deal? Re: 45 and the new border plan - SteveG - 11-24-2018 See? Mexico paying for that Wall would only have cost them billions more and they'd still have to care for the tens of 1000's of Muslim Criminal Invaders. Re: 45 and the new border plan - bfd - 11-24-2018 Disease knows no borders, and it's ramping up to be quite a nasty petri dish just across the border. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2018/11/24/tijuana-authorities-seek-help-sickness-spreads-migrant-camp/ And these are the lucky ones who aren't stuck in the main center in the "park". ![]() TJ's never been called the cleanest place in the world, but this could indeed become an international problem. Thousands of people, nothing but a few unmaintained and overflowing porta-potties. What could possibly go wrong? Thanks, Dumbf. Re: 45 and the new border plan - Lemon Drop - 11-24-2018 Washington Post reporting today that Mexico's new incoming government has agreed to Trump's proposal to have asylum seekers stay in that country while there claims are processed in US courts. They are calling this plan "Remain in Mexico" and view it as a short-term solution, the long-term solution being that fewer people attempt to immigrate. Wondering what he promised Mexico in return for this? Re: 45 and the new border plan - hal - 11-25-2018 Seeing reports that the new gov't in Mexico is flatly denying that there is a new asylum deal. Re: 45 and the new border plan - Speedy - 11-25-2018 hal wrote: I hope those reports are correct because the current plans are going just fine. The Reuters story says this new gov't is not yet authorized to announce deals with the US because they have not assumed power yet. Immigrant and human rights groups are pretty upset over this, it's a horrible idea and if it does go into effect I'm sure the Trump admin will get sued (as per always). Re: 45 and the new border plan - Lemon Drop - 11-25-2018 Borowitz nails it: I would like to strike a deal with Mexico that would allow Trump to remain in Mexico while he awaits sentencing in the US.
