Thank goodness I'm not the only bah humbugger here. Personally, The Polar Express has always creeped me out and haunted my nightmares.

hating one show or song is not hating the holiday or the spirit of the message.

i'm a big fan of How The Grinch Stole Christmas, A Christmas Story, and Emmet Otter's Jugband Christmas.

oh, and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation!

A Christmas Story is highly overrated. Boring. Or maybe I just cant relate to it because my Xmases were nothing like that. Kinda like Office Space (the movie). I dont get it. But Ive never worn a tie to work or worked in a cube.

Emmet Otter's Jugband Christmas.

Oh I found that one at a yard sale a few years back on DVD really cheap. My sister and I were still living at
home and just happened to watch it one night and loved it.

Back to OP's ?

I'd say that has to be Jim Carey's verison of The Grinch. My wife likes it, I don't know why.

there are several versions of Emmet Otter - one has NO KERMIT, removed due to licensing issues. i have a DVDR created from a VHS tape I recorded off HBO waaaaay back in the day.

It's not that I despise them, but I'd rather not see "It's a Wonderful Life" or "Rudolf the Red-Nosed reindeer" or "Frosty the Snowman" ever again.

When this originally aired (back when recording a show for later viewing really wasn't an option), I cancelled out on weekend camping trip with my Boy Scout troop so I could watch this instead. I was not happy with my decision then, and I'm still not now. What a POS...

I think you have to appreciate Jene Shepherd to appreciate this movie.
But seeing it annually would be too frequently for me.

I always hated the animated "Frosty the Snowman." It was among the worst of cheap 1970s animation and production.

I Despise Frosty, which technically isn't really a "Christmas" show.

Really, REALLY despise what Jim Carrey did to Grinch. And I live in Orlando, where every year they have "Grichmas" at Universal Studios, so I have to look at posters of the hideous character. Theodor Geisel's widow NEVER should have let that abomination be made.

I deal with my intense dislike for most Xmas shows by not watching them.

One of the best memories I have of my dad was the time I dropped by to visit when I knew A Christmas Story was about to come on HBO. He was in his den reading with the TV on & I changed the channel just as the movie started. He looked up & was immediately hooked because that's what the world looked like when he was a little boy & he enjoyed it immensely.

oh, and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation!

This one I've never understood what people see in it. I loved the original Vacation movie (saw that one in the theater, too!); however, every entry in the series after the original has been just a lame attempt to ride the success of the first.

It is what it is.
