Bought a refurb Airport Extreme, and have had no problems or issues.

Actually have purchased refurb Macs and been completely satisfied.

I'd buy pretty much anything refurb'd directly from Apple. If... it was a good percentage difference in pricing. The way I see it is if there was something wrong with the computer or whatever that had to be sent in or returned to be fixed, it was most likely new when the problems arose. What's the difference if you buy one that has probably had the issue fixed or if you are the person that buys new and then has the problem? Not sure if that makes sense but I don't think you're any less likely to have probs buying new rather than new. I say go for it. Refurb!

For the record, my new iMac i7 was a refurb I bought recently. No probs yet winking smiley

I've bought one before - looked just like new and the warranty is the same. Save money and go with a refurb.

Purchased both a refurb Express and Extreme. Both look and function as new. Very satisfied.

I bought a refurbished AE and had some trouble setting it up. Apple technical support couldn't help find the problem and sent me another one. In the meantime, I got it working and sent the replacement back, unopened. It's been problem free for a couple of years now.

Yes. In fact, I did about two months ago. Works perfectly.

It is what it is.

I too just recently purchased a refurb Airport Express. No problems. I have also purchased two refurb laptops and an iPod in the past as well, with no issues.

I've purchased a number of refurb items directly from the mothership; have never encountered a problem with any of them.

(BTW, it's spelled < y'all >.)

I'm a refurb junkie. Just about all my computer stuff is refurb and I've had zero problems.

The way I see it, a computer etc. comes off the assembly line and put in a box to be sold as is. A refurb is looked at by a human and restored to as near a new condition as possible.

A lot of the stuff that comes through the refurb store was never defective and in some cases is basically new stuff being cleared to make room for a revision. Not always, of course (my 2006 iMac bought in 2008 had clearly been repaired before the first time I went in.)

Solid state - refurb is good.

Hard drives and rechargeable batteries, better be a good discount or I buy new

Same here. Mac mini, MacBook Pro, MacBook, iPad ... and yes, an Airport Express. Condition is always as-new, and with the same warranty.

I bought one and it was a little quirky. Probably worth the savings but not as reliable as my new Time Capsule.
