Made me laugh

Saw this for the first time on a bumper sticker yesterday:

Didn't know if I should feel superior because I "got it" or be ashamed at my nerdiness.

I don't get it.
I don't get it.
I don't get it.
I don't get it.
I don't get it.
I don't get it.
I don't get it.
I don't get it.
I don't get it.
I don't get it.
I don't get it.
I don't get it.

funny, yes.
I think the Apple consumer is fractured though.
First, the Apple I people were hobbyists.
Then, school kids Apple ][.
Mac brought 'for the rest of us' (who are not programmers, school kids, nor hobbyists)
Now, frankly, NeXT/Mach/etc. with case sensitive names, and extensions, privileges, permissions, root, etc. firmly took us back into the geek/programmer realms.
iPad and iPod are full-bore consumer.

The internet and its implementation that makes the original post above funny, beckons to yet again the geek side of the Apple Family.

Me, I think Apple shines the brightest when they look at pure simplicity of the consumer market. The rest of us and what some might think of dumbing down or lowest denominator. I don't see that as a negative. I think the simple stuff is the hardest and most ingenious to make successful.

I have a T-shirt with "There's no place like 127.0.0.1" on it.

Also one with:

/*no comment*/

You can find stuff like that at ThinkGeek.

I was at a conference a couple of weeks ago, and they had several "geek" buttons, one of which said that. I didn't pick one of those up, but picked up several others, including:

Byte Me
I'm here because you broke something
No, I won't fix your computer
It's not that I can't explain it, it's just that you wouldn't understand

and my personal favorite:
I caught the Ether-bunny in my Ethernet
