i need to get a new sprint phone.

i could stay with my blackberry curve though i hear different quality issues about bb 6.0 os.

i am also thinking of an android phone, something like the hto evo shift.

for those with an android phone, how do u like the virtual keyboard?

how does swype work for u?

for those with android, how is your mac-android sync-itunes/pix/address book/calendar?

any and all thoughts would be great.

be well

Swype is AWESOME! It's extremely difficult to use the iPad after my wife and I had gotten used to Swype. It's just works 99% of the time and when it doesn't, it learns so that it works the next time.

What's also very good is the voice recognition software. Just hit the little microphone and then start talking. You can dictate punctuation marks as well. I've been using it for texts, emails, etc.

What Pinkoos said. Also voice recognition works really well with navigation, as in "Navigate to... " .

Ditto. Great app. Enables one-handed texting while swerving in and out of traffic.

I agree, both Swype and Voice control/navigation are quite nice. Even a low end Android phone benefits from these features.

I have the EVO 4G and love it. The virtual keyboard is much better than I thought it would be. I bought an app called Smart Keyboard Pro which gives you different skins and layout options and I love it. Not much experience with SWYPE but it does work well.

I have GMAIL and have iCal synced to my Google Calendar and address book so everything syncs nicely. As far as iTunes, get these apps: iSyncr for Mac and iSyncr WiFi - stay away from Doubletwist imo. iSyncr let's you manage and transfer any/all of your playlists to your phone via WiFi or USB. I love it.

Android has really surprised me. I really don't see much difference between the iPhone vs the EVo 4G.

Well with the EVO 4G all you can do is basically connect it via USB and use it in Disk Drive mode. iPhoto does recognize it when plugged in as a camera and lets you import pics. If you want to put some videos/movies on the phone you just drag and drop the file in the /videos directory.

That answer your question?
