Geraldine Ferraro passes

Geraldine Ferraro made United States political history.

Whether you voted for her, whether you agreed with her, she was the first women named by either the Dems or Reps to run on a Presidential ticket.

That was, and still is, important.

YMMV

Be well

Rob

What is it with these women dying so young (relatively speaking)? Geraldine at 75, Liz at 79. Women tend to outlive men, and they seem to live generally until their 80's and 90's.

Most women are also shorter than men, but not all of them.

One day there was an ungodly commotion in my quiet neighborhood...

There were a million cars and police vehicles everywhere...

turns out Geraldine had impromptu 'event' at the senior center at the park less than a block away...

went to see it all... I was so impressed that a real live candidate was within a block of my house...

all I really remember was the maniacal press trying to get shots of EVERYTHING including her vehicle driving away which meant that those getting that picture had to run like crazy after the shots to get on the press bus and catch up with the rest of the motorcade... laws of the road? didn't exist for that one minute as several vehicles ran red lights, drove recklessly, speeding etc...

interesting afternoon....

she sure did fade away - many times over the years Ive wondered what became of her...
