media streaming question

What is the best way to access media content on a network using Vista?

I have Yazsoft's Playback installed on my MacPro with all my movies and music. I use a WDTV upstairs to access Playback's media server. Is there some software I can put on the Vista laptop that would access Playback instead of just accessing the raw files? Just looking for some way to make it easier to use on the laptop.

Hmmm...I already have VLC installed. I'll have to check on how that works.

I've barely used it, but the new VLC (version 2) seems to have adopted a better media player-ish interface.
