If I were you, I'd get a spare bottle before you get started. Just in case you need to re-try some of those variations.

I really used to like doing shot of Tequila...right up until I got carried away and started throwing u... well you get the idea.

I still love margaritas on the rocks but I stay away from shots.

Then,

You need to get that gal that Joe Nichols sings about. The one whose clothes fall off when she drinks Tequila.

Actually the real Mexican way doesn't involve limes or salt. You chew a small piece of sugar cane right after the shot. Try it, you'll like it.

Well, the salt/lime thing is mostly associated with crappy tequila like Cuervo (absolute drek) which you have to shoot to get it down. You sprinkle some salt on the web between your thumb and forefinger, lick that, drink the shot, and bite the lime. I actually prefer to salt the rim of the shot glass.

I don't mind doing shots thataway, but I'm dead set against crappy tequila. Shots aren't a bad way to go with an okay tequila such as Sauza Hornitos (which is also good for margaritas).

I'll drink Herradura Blanco thataway sometimes, but that's good stuff to sip neat or on the rocks. Any of the Herradura's are good stuff. Doing shots of a really nice tequila like Don Julio is kind of a waste.

There are a lot of very fine tequilas out there. Most folks don't drink single malt scotch by the shot, do they?

No worms in tequila. Worms are sometimes put in bottles of mezcal which is sort of a rougher cousin of tequila also made from agave. Tequila can only be made from blue agave; mezcal can be made from several other varieties.
