75 degrees outside. 78 degrees inside when I got home from work.

Central heat is still on. No central air until May.

There's not enough difference in air temperature for an open window to cool the place. I stopped at 3 stores on the way home from work and all of them were out of fans so I've just got one tower fan cooling my whole apartment.

So, I stopped at the grocery store and picked up a few things...



$5 bucks worth of dry ice (in a red plastic bag) and a turkey pan.

Set it in front of the fan with a few cups of water poured over the bag of dry ice.

It's gone down 5 degrees in here over the last hour.

Make sure you don't do that in a tiny room with the door closed.

There ought to be a law requiring public pools to open on days when the temps break 80 degrees.
