Liking the Sigma 12-24mm

Got a chance to use it a bit more last week. Here is one of the shots. I really like the minimal distortion for such a wide angle (122 degrees on full frame).

ISO 100
25 sec. exp.
f5.6

What distortion would there be if not full frame?

WOW, Nice... Which lens is this and what body are you using it with? I have a D5000 (Nikon) and would love another lens!

Actually there would probably be less barrel distortion on a cropped frame as the far corners (where most of the distortion is evident) are cut off because the smaller sensor results in an angle of view that is about 1/3 less.

Lens is the Sigma - 12-24 F4.5-5.6 EX Aspherical DG which they make for Nikon, Canon, and Sony.
The body for this shot was my Sony Alpha 900.

nice that you lined it up vertically so well. and the long exposure didn't really change the colors so much (it appears).

but I still don't get those boats in the road

Nice shot. I use the Sigma 10-20 on my DX nikon cameras. It's a fun lens as well. The best thing about 10mm is that it is really, really wide--rectilinear lenses are amazing for scenes where you cannot step backwards.

Venice has this unique problem of all their roads being really, really wet.

The only thing that matters is that's it's a really purty picture.
