Question for 2011 Mini users

Does the latest entry level i5 Mini come with an empty ram slot, or did Apple put a pair of 1gb chips in there? I have a 2gb stick here & It'd be nice to have that empty slot.

That sucks!

Maybe, but what would free Monday be like without all the useless RAM pulls?

I don't think 3 is enough to run Lion efficiently. Guess I'll have to spring for more ram ... it's still cheap.

How do MacBook Air users with 2GB RAM manage? Seems like this could be a problem.

It's $35 for 8 gigs -- quit yer bitchin. =)

I'd spend the $110 for 16 gigs myself...

2 GB RAM is fine with Lion; been running it since last July 20th on me present MacBook. But, with RAM prices as low as mentioned above, I would add more to the mini - me, I'm getting a new Mac soon anyway, so not adding to mine.

2 GB of RAM is fine with an SSD (typing from Lion with 2 GB RAM on an MBA now.)

Without an SSD you're gonna get spinning beachball city at least some of the time with anything under 8 GB these days. Starting with Snow Leopard, not just Lion.

W_O_R_L_D of difference between 4GB and 16GB on i7 MBP w/ Lion... no SSD though.
I like Black's invoking the SSD option, but as has been noted, w/ the cheap price of RAM for laptops/Minis/iMacs, there's no reason to skimp on RAM; skip a meal and a couple of lattes, and the RAM is maxed out.
