the Love Boat, coming to razor near you...

That 1980's dream boat, the Pacific Princess, ake The Love Boat has been sold for scrap.

The Pacific Princess, bold and romantic vessel of TV's Love Boat from 1977 to 1986, will soon be making another run. A last run. To the scrap heap. Somebody call Capt. Stubing. This simply won't stand.

USA Today, citing an Italian news report, says the 40-year-old ship has been sold for $3.3 million after rusting away at a dock in Genoa, Italy, for the last couple years. Able to host just 600 passengers (tiny by today's standards where ships hold up to 4,000 passengers), the Pacific Princess sailed under the Princess Cruise Line from 1975 to 2002.

Its new owner, a Turkish demolition company, bought it for scrap metal.

I can't help but wonder where cursing would be today if not for this ship and the television series it starred in.

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands...
- For example, if they are wrapped around your throat she's probably slightly upset.

Would Gopher have become a Senator without his stint on the show?

The other "Love Boat " sister ship Island Princess to Pacific Princess still sails, now under the name Discovery by the cruise company Voyages of Discovery in Harwich, England.

I've been on a cruise. Got food poisioning on my honeymoon. Cruise line says I wasn't used to eating all that fresh seafood. Being from Seattle, where they GOT all that fresh seafood, I told them to stuff it.
