Alcohol purchases this week

I was working with a client who knows a ton about wine, and after picking his brain about what would be a nice wine for my father in law. He pointed out this wine as a great wine to either drink now or put away for a few years:

I asked him for advice a few years ago as well, and since he was right then as well, I picked up 4 (3 as gifts, 1 for me).

Before this business trip, I noticed that a few of our liquor bottles were low so I picked up a bottle of this:

and this:

Considering that we do not drink as much as we used to, we should be set for a bit. drink smiley

Caymus is an awesome vintner They create some beautiful wines.
I suggest you also check out Duckhorn Vineyards. And do a California wine tour.
Do some tastings anywhere you can, you might be surprised sometime *(:>*

What john dough picked up is more alcohol than I've consumed in the past 20 years.

When I was in my 20s, I drank beer most of the time and never drank hard liquor. In the last 3 years I can count on one hand the times I drank beer, as now my wife and I prefer a nice glass of red wine or a vodka martini.

Years ago, a friend told me that the worst thing (for your wallet) is to find out there is a difference in good food, good booze, cars or travel; you can never go back once you find out there is something that is expensive but worth it.

Last Christmas, a friend gave us a bottle of Scotch, and not knowing what we had on our hands (right away), we just put it away without a second thought. I know that the older the Scotch, the "better" it tastes (for the most part), but I had no idea how good this stuff could be. I am not a Scotch drinker, yet this stuff was sooooooo smooth that i may have to buy another when it runs out.

I am enjoying it more than my wife, yet she said it was pretty good (she is less of a Scotch drinker than I am).

The Scotch will last me about two years or longer, but the vodka and tequila will be gone by this summer.
