long headers in forwards

When I forward an email in Mail, it always shows the long headers which makes the email unnecessarily long, but when I just hit reply or reply all, it doesn't do this. I've looked all over the prefs, but I don't see this as a setting. Of course, I can always go in and delete it but I just wonder if there's not an easier way???

Forwarding is intended to preserve the headers, so that the recipient can retrace to the source of the message. Replying is intended to be a conversation between two (or more) parties, and doesn't keep all the headers in place. This is intentional.
