Time Machine Question: Can I replace just one or two files?

When using TIme Machine and you want to replace a file, or multiple files or a folder of files, .... Can this be done?

IF so, I was thinking of replacing the files that Carbon Copy Cloner suggested deleting (Because they could not be read ) (About 12 of them) and replacing them from a GOOD COPY (earlier TIme Machine BU). Then Carbon Copy says to repeat the backup.

I assume then it will backkup these new files, and take a much much shorter time to complete.

But if I do that, I see nothing that will keep other files from being written to those bad areas. So unless I find out otherwise, I will try to restore those indidual files, and see how it works, with the possiblity (High), that I will have to zero out the drive (if that writes the bad blocks to the bad block file) and restore from an earlier or just done backup, and possibly (also high) of replacing the HD.

Yes, I have booted into the RECOVERY that is hidden on a LION install, and used DISK UTILITY, and did permissions, and fix files. Found some permissions, and a few files (I think), but after that DISK UTIL says that the drive is fine, when it isnt really. I guess disk util can only do so much.

Any line on a good price on a 500 GIG drive to replace this Scorpio Blue 500 Gig I took out of an External that was on sale.

I dunno about the TM files. Have you checked the SMART status of the drive? I think Onyx (free) will do it, as will SMART Utility. If I were replacing a drive right now I'd seriously consider the Seagate Momentus XT 750.
