well, maybe not new - a refurb from everyone's favorite forum host OWC..

Got wife a 32gb Verizon unit. For being used and reconditioned I can say it is clean. I found one minor blemish on the back.

So now do I need to keep it hidden until May 1for the big day or give it to her right away so I can play with it (and likely have to give her something more on May 1.. you know how wives birthdays are)

Do "B". C'mon, she's your wife, you won't need to get something else for her and it's only two weeks. 14 quick days before you can "help" her set it up and "show" her how to use it (over an extended period of time, of course).

I'm sure AAPL shareholders want you to open it and buy apps now.

I would load it up and configure for her with music, movies and apps you know she will love.

Charge it.

Get a nice case the right color.

Then box it up.

When I do this, I try to keep ALL of the original packaging so it looks like my wife was opening it new.

These things depreciate every single day. The value of the gift today is literally higher than it will be tomorrow, or on May 1.
