Canon will fix 5D Mark 3 light leak optionally, non issue IMHO

If I read this correctly, the issue happens in the dark with long exposures with auto exposure and users turning the lcd on.

Let's make sense of this. You must be shooting in pitch black on an exposure longer than 1 second. Then during exposure turn on the lcd panel. This would jiggle the camera ruining the shot anyway. Most people shoot long exposures in manual anyway.

Now the camera has some shipping delays because Canon paused to check the situation out.

Get a Nikon. ;-)

Of course, what they'll do is either decrease the light from the LCD automatically when taking a long exposure or make the LCD turn off, thus removing the light leak. Either way, it seems a little silly to delay a camera with great features such as radio controlled flashes. What do I know? I'm a Nikon user. :-)

I would rather see a company delay a product slightly and offer a recall to repair to those that want it, than deny the problem and pretent it does not exist.

Bravo Canon.

D800 has it's own issues at the moment that are actually more serious than the 5D 3issues.
