John Peel's Record Collection

[gizmodo.com]

"Attention music nerds: You can now explore one of the best record collections ever assembled using a beautiful new interface. The late British radio host John Peel had monumentally good taste in music. It goes without saying that it should be catalogued and made available to the public, but we're in love with the catalog's easy-browse design.

Rather than just present you the with a list of albums and tracks like a boring library catalog, Peel's collection is displayed as shelves filled with records. Browsing the collection feels like the real thing, and if you come across something of interest, the site has handy links to iTunes and Spotify. So far only the "A's" have been completed, with the rest of the catalog to be added—one letter per week—over the coming months. Yes, this is how you will spend the rest of your life."

Take THAT, iTunes Cover Art.

In fact, it would be cool to be able to enable that in iTunes. Take a series of pictures and tell iTunes which album in the iTunes library matches with the portion of the image that shows the correct spine.

Of course, adding more music to your collection would pose a challenge.

Probably so because it stops with, "Adam & the Ants"
