I'm going to drive full throttle on the way home... which will be interesting with 3000lbs and 200HP.

And hot on the heels of the passing of Ferdinand Porsche, too. Must be gearing up for a serious race in the afterlife...

He was a maverick. He did things his way. I admired his passion for cars/racing.

I am too, but I'll be moving less than 200 lbs using about 1/10 horsepower.

I saw a car that looked very much like the picture in the original post. It was just a few days ago, in north central Nebraska. I don't know if it was a Shelby, an AC, or a kit car of some type. I couldn't get close enough to see inside for details and I didn't have enough time to get a very good look but it had the same color scheme, the same roll bar, the same side pipes, etc. It was a bit beaten up but it had quite a sound. Were very many made? Could one be running around loose? Very interesting. The car was nearly legendary for its performance when I was in college.

I rode out to Alice's Restaurant in Woodside and saw two 427 Cobra replicas.

One was at Alice's and we had a chance to talk to the owner. It was a beauty, so well done, you know it couldn't be an actual/original Shelby. But it was gorgeous.
