Is it safe (not available to anyone but the member it's sent to) to include my email address and phone number in a PM?

I never thought much about doing this before, so thanks for the answer!

What about "once in a blue moon" for an option?

What 's the worst that could happen if Attila the Hun has your email and phone info?

This isn't a secure database as far as I know, but I would still consider it safe...

well, how else could we swap stuff back and forth, like in Free Mondays, or Wife Swap Wednesdays?

I wouldn't put a credit card or social security number in, but a name and phone? Probably. People can get that from the phonebook anyway.

Seriously, like RacerX says, if WSW gets impeded there could be a problem.

That's true, I know, but I've noticed that forum posts come up on google searches, so I wondered if PMs were available in the same way as topics. It didn't seem that they would be, but…

Thanks for your thoughts, everyone. smiling smiley

yes, it looks infected. If you will PM me your address, I can send you some recently expired antibiotics that have been stored in my car's glove box in a hot garage. They should take care of it for you.

The mods have no access to private messages.

The admins (OWC IT guys) may have access if needed, but I do not know that for a fact.
There has never been a need to as far as I know.

I doubt Phorum gives access to admins for PMs. Most other forums don't. What an admin could do is reset your password to something they know, then login with your account.

And as far as personal info goes, that seems pointless. The admins (OWC) already have practically all of us in their customer database as is.

YOU DOUBT WRONG. Sorry, but you should be used it it by now, since you always answer, even in doubt, with such sure clarity.

Your PMs can be read by ANY admin with PHORUM and even deleted before YOU read them so you’d never even know one was sent to you.

What about the notification email that goes out automatically?
