Web Video question - are there any players out there that can trigger events on the page outside the video?

let's look at a scenario:

-user arrives on page that has video embedded on it
-in order to view the video, user needs to input email address. Upon clicking "submit", page reloads (or similar action) and video is now viewable
-after video is done, a script shoots off an email to the user-supplied email address thanking them for viewing the video

I'd imagine that among the plethora of video players out there, there would be one that would offer some sort of scripting/interactivity. As I try to wade through the google results, do you folks know of any such solution? Either a free or paid player is fine. I'll consider a subscription-based video content delivery service, but that's less attractive than a buyout option.

I thought that Quicktime was able to do that, or similar. I remember that being one of the big selling points of streaming Quicktime files was that you could embed active URL links in the video.

quicktime is probably not a good solution for this situation. A Flash or HTML 5 player is probably needed.

found something that is close to what I'd need in the Wistia service. Looks like what I need is some sort of "post-roll" action:
