Photo of the full, annular "Ring of Fire" eclipse

I don't often start a new thread for a photo (I did already post this in the "it's getting dark here" thread a few below), but this one is pretty cool.

Reno was in the direct path for the full annular and I managed to grab some cool photos with the cloud cover.

My most favorite fact about this image (and my others): I used the internals of an old 3.5" floppy to make my super-dense filter:

That's awesome. I was on the roof of my apartment building here in L.A. trying to capture it with my digital camera. Didn't work out. I pulled a $1 bill out of my pocket, poked a little hole in it with my pocket knife and projected the eclipse onto my hand.

Low tech, but it allowed me to observe a solar eclipse for the first time since 1974.

I'll see you again... when we are both like golden clouds on the wind.

I was hoping to get a snap of the eclipse like yours but SF was way outside of the path.

I finally got my image posted to the "its getting dark here" thread.

Cheers!

Here's a very nice one, in color:

But I think yours, with the clouds, is far more dramatic. Well done!
