It was totally painless and went pretty much as Adobe promised. This is the second post announce upgrade I've been able to take advantage of. Anyone else getting in on post announce free upgrade this time?
FYI, if you go for it, the upgrade provided is by download - no media but that is not a concern for me. I've been purchasing my upgrades for work as downloads since CS5 and it works out very well.

Glad to hear, I just submitted mine last night. How long ago did you submit it? Took some effort as their instructions are wrong. You don't just log into your account and see an option for a post announcement upgrade form. Had to google, found someone else that linked to it.
What receipt did you use? My email from supermedia doesn't have date on it, other than the email itself. The receipt on their site doesn't have their address. I sent them a PDF of the email one.

I received mine (Illustrator CS6) on Friday, nine days after I submitted my info. I bought from Amazon and used the regular download invoice (no physical address either). I agree, the instructions weren't all that clear.

I submitted my request on 5/9 and got the confirmation and DL link 5/20. I sent them a scanned PDF of the paper invoice that was included with my CS 5.5 update, purchased from Softwaremedia.com.
Softwaremedia.com provided this link which contained all the info I followed. There's a lot of info and it is a bit convoluted but everything you need is there:
