I was just at CNN reading about the SpaceX launch, and some idiot replied “It says private industry, but
clearly we can see that NASA is paying them a total of $389 million for this launch. So much for saving
tax payer dollars.”


WHAT?

Does every idiot who hears that statement about private industry think that private industry will just
launch cargo and astronauts to the ISS or sats into space for FREE??? WTF is wrong with people??

Private industry is out to make a profit - and the hope is that private industry will innovate and bring down
costs without sacrificing safety (as opposed to the lowest bidder system??) —— and people are so dimwitted
as to think that private industry does this as a favor to the US Government?? Like the guy who started
SpaceX and PayPal just wanted to spend $400 million to launch this rocket - and perhaps
another $4.4 billion of his own cash to launch 11 more of them?

THANK #$%^#$%^& for those browser extensions. By the time I got around to refreshing and CONSIDERING
turning them off momentarily, I decided already that someone so stupid (and all the readers who commented
and ALL of them missed it!!) weren’t worth 2 cents to bother.

Some folk believe space-x is just going to do a "Facebook" and sell advertising. Reminds me of the old theory of painting a corporate logo on the face of the moon with missiles spewing glitter, or using a high powered laser.

Do what I do, say to yourself: The Internet is full of 14 year olds on the low end of the spectrum who have nothing better to do than post every vapid comment which immediately comes to mind.
