my office has an enclosed shower on our roof deck. i want to use it after long early morning bike rides. the copper plumbing is quite leaky (pinhole leaks) and i'd like to fix it but have no experience with this sort of thing.

any tips or tricks on how fix this?

Pinhole basically require you to replace all the pipe with new. If all the pipes are exposed this will be relatively easy, although can't you ask your employer to have it fixed? Anything you do to the plumbing could be a potential liability for them.

I agree with mikebw and once you start getting pinhole leaks you will probably have more. Replacement is best option but copper can be a chore. There are a couple band-aid options though -

#1 - cut out leaky section and replace using PEX and quick connects. Do not use CPVC because UV rays will break it down and you will be leaking again.

#2 - rubber patch & worm clamp. I used this a couple years ago on a neighbors leaky pipe. I had some rubber gasket material and cut a strip that wrapped around the pipe. I uses a worm clamp to secure it around the pinhole leak and it worked great for several years until she got around ho having it repaired properly. You can probably get a kit at local Ace or other.

the shower gets the traditional amount of company support - not quite enough to make it functional

it would likely be completed very quickly if the exec thats in charge of the facilities had higher personal hygiene standards. oh well.

therefore preparing the shower is a task that operates within the nebulous confines of what i can get away with. i don't think that a torch falls within those boundaries - do you think a soldiering iron could be used to patch the holes? otherwise i may try the rubber clamp trick.

i completed a fair amount of cleanup today but it ended when one of the leaks squirted me during the shower test. unfortunately the leaks are too small to be claimed as additional shower heads - but barely.

Rubber tape and a hose clamp...
Just don't clamp too tight, or you might find that the copper is corroded thin enough to collapse the pipe.
