Man tries to pay for dinner with a bag of pot

"NIAGARA FALLS—A man ordered a take-out dinner from a Niagara Falls Boulevard diner early Saturday and tried to pay for it with a bag of marijuana, police said.

The incident occurred shortly after 2a.m. at the Denny’s restaurant, police said. The man ordered $9.91 worth of food and offered a cashier $1 and the pot in exchange for the meal.

When the cashier refused the deal, the man tried to sell the pot to other customers in the restaurant, police said, before fleeing into a nearby wooded area when the cashier called police.

An employee at the restaurant recognized the man and gave his name to police, who said that he lives in the area of the restaurant. He was not home when officers arrived later Saturday. An investigation is continuing."

Feel free to add your own one-liner on this story! Reminds me of "back in the day" when my friends and I would end up at Denny's at 2am after the bars closed...

I worked washing dishes at Denny's during summers while in high-school and college. My first night of work was during and after the 2nd to last Grateful Dead concert. Dead Heads with munchies at Denny's at 2AM is a long strange trip in itself. The guy who was supposed to train me was fired, his backup quit, and I was left alone on my first shift with a restaurant full of stinky hippies with insatiable appetites. Later in the season we found pot plants growing in the parking lot that I attribute to all the seeds spilled in the parking lot that night.

I used to go to a doughnut shop for glazed doughnuts that were just made and still hot after the bars closed.

I knew someone that collected seeds. When the rainy season started one year, they spread over an ounce of seeds around the grounds of the local police department. I would not necessarily attribute it to people being clumsy but it is a possibility. smoking smiley

Hey now! While it's acceptable to export a thread, it's a breech of forum etiquette to use the same line again.
