I have been very busy for the last couple of days and haven't had time to check-in. I am so sorry for your loss.

My daughter was out of the county taking a summer class. She left as soon as she heard the news and just showed up tonight.

I'm glad that you have sweet memories maco.

So sorry to learn of your loss. 55 is way too young... wishing for you and your family some peace in the coming days. So very difficult saying goodbye to a friend of more than 36 years.

Words of advice based on past experiences and what I am experiencing now. Don't worry if it is the right time to call or if you will say the right thing or the wrong thing. Just call....

Luckily, I have been getting those calls. On the other hand, I know that many people haven't called because they are wondering if it is the right time or if they will say the right thing.

Facebook has been great, I've enjoyed making some slide shows and putting up video clips and photos of my wife. Really great to hear people reminiscing and giving their testimonials.

As you may recall, a friend of mine passed suddenly in February in an avalanche. It's been amazing to see how Facebook has been a great place for comforting all those close to him. His SO occasionally posts on his wall her thoughts... like packing for a trip without him.

I'm glad you knew her for so long and were married for so long. Hopefully that means you got the most out of the years she was here with you. We never know when the end will be, and for me at least it means that it's not worth fighting or going to be upset.

While no marriage is perfect, I was blessed. We were both at peace in our marriage. Nothing left unsaid. No big regrets. No recent fights. We were both faithful during our entire marriage.

During the last month or so, I had made a big effort to join her on the couch more often after work. She would like to come home, put her feet up and watch TV. I was usually on the computer or doing things around the house after work. I'm glad that (spending more time on the couch with her) happened.

So so sorry Maco. I hope your memories can nurture you while you move onwards from here.
