This specific one? I'm not sure. TNs have stepped up recently. Some are 8bit now. Some TN panels are nicer than e-IPS panels.

That's the model that I bought on the recommendations from forum pals.

I have to say that I really am happy with it…

… although, it doesn't compare with using my 60" Panasonic plasma TV as a monitor.

I was surprised how crisp everything looked on this huge screen. I had expected a certain fuzziness, but text looks as sharp on the big screen as on my desk monitor.

This is one of the reasons that I'm thinking about some kind of computer upgrade, since my MacPro can't go any further with OS upgrades. No ML for me, unless I say goodbye to my 1,1 MacPro. sad smiley

It's my thought that being able to upgrade to future operating systems will be important, in order to take advantage of big jumps in technology that are probably not that far in the future.

I imagine, one day we'll all be using big screen like this and they'll work with gestures without even touching the screen, like the sic-fi and military movie effects portray.

Don't you think?

The 2405FPW was one of the best purchases I have made in the last 10 years. I have considering replacing it because:
# No HDCP
# More lag than I would like
# Two adjacent pixels have died in the middle if the upper left quad
# Most of the LED backlight models use half the power

It is a tough choice. I am likely going to get a 27" because none of the 30" displays have LED backlights. The main problem is my Windows work laptop can not drive it at native resolution and getting a LCD with a scaler means I will still have to put up with lag.
