WiFi question

I have an ApTV2 and a Roku,

The ApTV2 streams from iTunes just fine whether mp3 or .wav or aif.
The Roku doesn't, at least on the 2 privates I have, Chaneru and Plex.

But the odd thing is that the mp3 and .wav sound completely different off the ApTV then off the Mac itself.
The mp3 is decidedly dull off the ApTV.
Off the Mac they sound a teense different, but nothing like that.
Any ideas or knowledge to shed?

Also, I just borrowed an AirPort Extreme Base (1st Gen) from a buddy to see if it would be an improvement over my aging Belkin G. And yes, 4 bars as compared to 2 on the ApTV upstairs.
Is there any way to view clients on it? Perhaps it's old school, but the Belkin had the ability to view clients and port forward, blah, blah, blah. Maybe I'm, looking to make this more difficult than it is?
Does the ApTV connect via 5G or 2.4G or is there a way to set that, or don't I care?

Lemme clarify, the mp3 and wav sound completely different from each other off the ApTV. But sound nearly the same off the computer. The speakers are both the same.

Quite the speed you have there.
I assume you pay extra for that?

It also thinks it's in Brooklyn where my friend lives.
Is there some way to change it's "location"?
