Mt Lion any improvement over Lion?

Is Mt. Lion a ballooned OS with not much improvement or worth upgrading from Lion? Or do you like Lion just fine?

By the By, Time Machine has just been humming along doing its business since I switched HDs. I never even know it is there it is just doing what it was designed to do. What a relief!

Difficult to say, since Mt. Lion hasn't yet been released.

And by difficult, I mean impossible. You have modern hardware however, so I can't imagine why it wouldn't run great on it. If it were me I'd toss $19 their way to find out. When it gets released, that is.

Oh, didn't realize it isn''t available. I saw something about a refurb being shipped with free upgrade to Mt Lion on the "deal" and thought it was available.

ML has some nice features like AirPlay. I plan on upgrading to it from SL.

Yes, buy now, get Mt. Lion for free when it comes out. I think it's usually for purchases made up to 30 days before the new OS arrives. In other words current or refurb hardware can only come with the original OS but if a new OS comes out very shortly after they cut you a break on getting it.

Same here.

but if a new OS comes out very shortly after they cut you a break on getting it.

And if you buy a new machine with the old OS after the latest has started shipping, you got the new one dropped in your bag, or you could order it from Apple for the cost of shipping.

Maybe one will get a code so you can download it from Apple for free.

Isn't Siri going to be available on Mountain Lion? Or is that iOS 6?

If you read about the new stuff in ML in more detail, beyond the Facebook/Twitter/entertainment crap and fluff, it sounds like they may have quietly introduced a fix or two for things in Lion that annoy the snot out of people.

Twitter?

Will probably buy it for the MBA since I use it for the most part like a tablet, but the 'productivity' macs stay at SL as long as possible.

Cloud, messages, notes, mail VIP, AirPlay are all very nice additions in ML.

I might go the MBA to ML route and keep my MBP on SL. But I suspect I won't look back.

I'm aware of the DPs, but they are not public betas, which at best give hints and clues.

"I'm aware of the DPs"

Then you should have stuck with "difficult"

Cloud, messages, notes, mail VIP, AirPlay are all very nice additions in ML.

That list includes a big chunk of the features that mean little or nothing to me. But Facebook and Twitter integration would be at the top of my list of "frivolous bloat being added for people who want toys rather than tools".
