follow up question: if a dealership can bleed $4k/day and they don't notice this for 10 years, how much do they make? I would guess at least 25-50x as much, otherwise they would immediately noticed the missing funds

It's an Acura dealership and if you're in charge of the till then it's probably pretty easy to take it from said till.

78 months, but probably only serve 18.

Hope she walks out with $0 in any of her accounts.

C'mon folks, show some mercy here...

Her lawyer put it another way, saying that she had an abusive childhood that lead to a gambling addiction and propensity to overspend.

I hope she used Groupon for some of those spending sprees.

"Despite the amount of funds taken over time, there were no adverse impacts to our daily operations." Lee Baierl, CEO of Baierl Automotives said in a statement to ABC News.

Man, I'm in the wrong business!

Insurance probably covered the loss.

I wonder how she finally got caught? Maybe she quit stealing, and this was noticed?

Well, that's what she told her attorney to say.

Of course, with the amount she stole, she could easily have buried a few boxes of Krugerrands for a rainy day...

A. A dirty thief, but a dirty thief that knows how to live the good life.

B. Only $20K in the bank? Smart enough to pull off this scam for seven years though? Nope. Not buying it. The Caymans, swiss accounts. There's a nest egg(s) somewhere out there.

C. $10,000,000. Seven years of high roller living. Likely a year and a half prison time. That money under a foreign mattress somewhere. That's not a bad ROI.

D. Get me Betty White on the blower. I've got a script that writes itself and there's an Oscar waiting out there with her name on it. big grin smiley

Also wondered-- looked at a bunch of sources going back to the time she was first caught, and couldn't find that piece.

Some stupid "new" sales guy probably "sold" one of her non existent cars in the inventory to a friend of the owners and they were pissed when they couldn't find it.
