on a how day like this, how many cold beers do you drink? how about a nice quiet weekend, how many drinks do you get?

Usually a sixer for breakfast, then there's the three martini lunch, the cocktails after work, perhaps a pre-dinner aperatif and of course a bottle of wine with dinner, followed by some port or eau de vie.

Oh wait, I thought I was in a Mad Men episode!

Most weeks M-Th: none. An occasional glass of wine if I'm out to dinner or cooked something especially yummy, but that is rare.

Most weekends: a couple drinks over the course of the weekend depending on what I'm doing. Bloody Mary or wine or a cocktail. In the summer I love a glass of sangria at an outdoor concert!

maybe 1 beer 2-3 nights during the week....maybe 2 beers on friday or saturday night. So 4-5 beers a week at most...many weeks it's more like 1-2 total.

But in weather like this, when it's so hot, pretty much not at all. A beer later in the night maybe.

0, zero, none.

Use it to burn or disinfect things, but keep it out of people's mouths and stomachs. At best, it's neutral, but usually somewhere between bad and terrible.

on average, less than 7 per week.

Since the early 80's, I average maybe 6 beers and 1 homemade mixed drink a year. I never buy a mixed drink at a bar or restaurant - too expensive.

I try not to drink during the week.
Maybe the odd one here or there.

On the week-end I'll have 6-12 beers depending on what I am doing.

If I didn't have to drive, I'd probably drink a lot more.

None. I gave it up when I finally connected the dots: alcohol…migraine. In the past 15-20 years, I've had maybe 5 beers. I remember the last two specifically, which I had when a friend from Berlin was here for a visit.

1-6 on Friday and Saturday nights, occasionally 1 or 2 on a weeknight at home (less in the winter), 2-3 if I go out for a happy hour after work on weeknight (which might happen once a month or so). It used to almost always be beer (good stuff, not crappy "lite" beers), or my own homebrew, but in the last few years beer has agreed with me less and less (stomach-wise), so I still drink it but less often and never more than 2 or 3. Beer substitutes have been Mike's Hard Lemonade (various flavors), or a flavored vodka, sometimes on the rocks, sometimes mixed, occasionally samples of other kinds of booze. Many times I go all week not drinking any alcohol, and then maybe 1 or 2 on the weekend. Just depends on what's going on, and if I have to drive.

So, this is a call to arms. As our country is losing its technological edge, we cannot shudder in our homes. Get back into the bars. Quaff that pint. Your company and country need you to be at your peak, and you shouldn't deny yourself the career that you could have. Take life by the bottle and be all that you can be.

None. Not a teetotaler, I just don't have (OK, make) the time. Kids take up all of that commodity.

I was an amateur boozie in college but I didn't put in the practice time of the semi-pros or the real professionals.

To give you an idea, a twelve pack of black and tan lasts me 8-10 months. I actually prefer Clausthaler and O'Douls Amber, but they are hard to find not already pre-chilled and I don't have tehe frig space to waste on beer bottles.

In the summer, March-October, I drink about 1 beer a night to wind down from the day during the week. On weekends, 2/3. Rarely more. In the Cool months, I will switch to Red Wine!
