Bit of space needed for could be fun.

Good grief!

Though it would be neat to display all of those in chronological order, in a nice building with garden paths that one could leisurely walk through, with descriptions, discussions, old ads playing, and some hands-on machines running, too. . .

Unfortunately, the wife wouldn't appreciate my taking out a new mortgage on the house.

I wonder what the total number of computers is.

I'd be interested in knowing how that mess got collected.

Be here now. Be someplace else later. Is that so complicated?

No doubt, this guy, like many of us, has gone through a lot of models, since he began using a Mac. Thing is, unlike us, he never got rid of any of his old computers.

For me, it was a matter of space, but if I think back I had most of those models at one time or anothrr.

The first Mac that I ever bought was for my son in the early '80s, a model known as a "fat Mac." As I recall, it had 300k of memory and cost me $2800 with my son's college discount!

Years later, the first computer that I bought for myself was an SE30, which I bought used for $325.

After that it was:

9500
8500
8600
G3 minitower
original iMac for Mavis
G5
Mac Pro
another iMac
Powerbook
Mac Mini

My regrets are:

no "Cube"
no 20th Anniversary Mac

Both always seemed "cool" to me.

I look at my list and think, "Im sure that some of you have a more substantial list than mine.

I'd be willing to bet that among our members we could put together quite a museum!

Actually, as I recall, I donated my 8600 and my mini Tower to harbourmaster for him to fix up for kids that couldn't otherwise afford a computer. Say where is Ken, lately?

But... no collection is complete without an "I brake for 8 - Mac OS 8" bumper sticker!

I have a bunch of other random stuff from around the time of the Mac OS 8 launch; keychains, some temporary tattoos, a t-shirt or two.

Most of it just looks like junk acquired at lot sales. I see a lot of labels stuck on to the fronts, etc. Looks like very little, if any of it, is really "mint" or collectible. Certainly not for that kind of money.

Couldn't bid on it anyways, that auction expired last year. Not to say I would even consider that mixed collection of good and bad condition items at anywhere near the asking price.

Aside from the two newer iMacs, I don't see anything worth over $200.

Quite the collection of beige though.

If you bought something like that you wouldn't have to worry about having a wife anymore.
