I read her book about her neck and it really struck me. She was a hell of a writer without putting on any airs.

She had such a generous soul. Her humor was gentle and encouraging, and she could tell a great story. RIP, we will miss you.

A note: When she was planning "Sleepless in Seattle," she had a choice between Baltimore and (I think) Toronto for Meg Ryan's hometown. "Mmm, crabcakes," she said. "I like crabcakes." And Baltimore got the job.

I thought she had her life and career set up so she could really enjoy her success.

I still make her frozen Key Lime pie recipe from "Heartburn," which is a great book and good 80's movie starring Meryl Streep and Jack Nicholson.

Great storyteller, with a uniquely feminine point of view, she will be missed.

Enjoyed "Harry Met Sally" detested "Sleepless in Seattle". But the film world is (more than a little bit) dumbe without her!

"I'll have what she's having."

An ad-lib created by Billy Crystal and delivered by Estelle Reiner. One of the greatest lines ever.
