Best OFFLINE iPhone Navigation app that includes Canada...

I'm gearing up for the Epic Boy Scout Adventure to Canada. The Verizon iPhone 4s has been made a 'global phone' with the addition of a $15 "Call to/from Canada" option for this month, and I'm assured it will work with the Rogers system up in the Great White North, eh...

So the next step is to find an offline navigation app that won't require data ('cause I'm not doing that $$$ thing).

Anyone here use anything that's useful, that includes worthwhile downloaded maps of Canada and reasonable POV's ? My alternative, of course, is to buy a regular GPS unit, which is a possibility too.

I use both Navigon and MotionX GPS Drive.

These may be rendered mute in iOS 6. I think there may be a MotionX Lite app. Voice for GPS Drive is $10 a year (on sale) but if you have a navigator, you won't really need turn-by-turn. Normally, I'd say it's only $10, but with iOS 6 looming, it might be a waste of money.

Anyhow, both are nice apps, and I may pop for GPS Drive HD for the iPad, just because it looks so cool.

Another vote for Navigon, even though Garmin bought the co. and promptly screwed around with the interface. The core function is still there and works very well.

Motion GPS drive is good as well.

Navigon is a dandy and on currently selling on a reduced price.
I have the version for North America which includes USA and Canada.
I recommend WiFi to download the full complement of maps, about 2GB.

I use CoPilot Live. It seems to work fine in offline mode. I disabled WiFi and Cellular Data on my phone and it still loaded the maps and GPS worked.

earlier this year i had a full service trial of MotionX GPS. it did not work when i was out of cell range in rural wyoming.

Hey, I did not know you could do this, thanks for the tip.

I did not know that.

Good to know, especially if I lose my unlimited data with ATT.

Navigon has you download maps of where you'll be going. Choosing a Navigon app from the somewhat confusing list can be daunting. But then I'm easily confused.

a lot of time around town i am happy with NavFree. for longer trips i use my Garmin dedicated GPS. NavFree has its limitations but works remarkably well for a free app. you download the maps you need. i just checked and there is a version for Canada (and other countries).

TomTom is just like their handheld units. Good if you have one, kind of odd interface if you do not.

CoPilot works fine too.

Haven't use the rest.
