My mother-in -law passed away and I'm trying to create a slideshow with music that will play on my sis-in-laws iPad for today. The final m4v continually lists as a protected movie. Two songs used were old purchases that had DRM. I don't see them listed in iTunes Plus but even when I try to update a listed 41 songs I'm getting an error and iTunes is saying it can't do it-try back later.

I burned them the CD as AIFF then brought back into iTunes and then converted to MP3 but even using them in IPhoto 11 still gets me a protected video. I deleted the old protected songs from iTunes but still getting the same result.

Any ideas how I can get this done quick? Thanks for any suggestions

Just saw that if I change the ext to .mp4 I don't see protected MPEG-4 movie. I now have MPEG-4 movie. Anyway I can tell if this will play on her iPad before leaving with it?

"Protected movie" does not necessarily indicate DRM, .m4v is just the container/wrapper that allows for the use of DRM and is the default file type for some video created by iLife apps. Your file should play fine.

Thanks I finally figured that out. I'm going to try to get it on my wife's iPad. I need to get the video from my my MyBookLive to the iPad. I have an app WD2go that allow me to view the video but I can't figure out how to copy it local. I'm totally lost on the iPad

I managed to get it on my sis-in-laws iPad so looks like Im good.
