Just turn it off and let it sit. You can cycle the battery when you're home.

Where ya going this time?

It will hold a full charge of 30 days while sleeping.

Likely more if you turn it off---I would turn it off.....No, I would take mine with me :-)

Yup, take it with! You would be surprised at what you might get for it.

Edit: $568 for a new iPad3 16GB here in Mexico compared to the $499 I paid shipped from B&H Photo. But I would think the demand in Cuba would push the price up.

Saint Cloud, Minnesota, where the weather is wonderful even when it isn't.

Leave it plugged in and charged. That way if it gets stolen you can more easily track it via iCloud/Find My iPhone. : )

Why not bring it? The iPad is the perfect travel companion!

RIP, Greg the DogSitter. You are missed.

If it doesn't get stolen first.

Unless you feel it's a security problem to bring along, I love my iPad when I'm away from the house.

But if you really need to leave it behind, go ahead and power it down.

Internet or no I'd still take the iPad. reading. audiobooks. games. trip diary. notes. expense tracking. music. general diversion in times of stimulation overload.

My brother and his family took their brand new original iPad 1's to a Caribbean island just a couple of days after they were introduced... IOW, the first iPads to hit the Caribbean, and blammo, second day there; stolen.

Be careful.

I am not iPad's greatest fan. The AIR is more up my alley, Graylocks. Personal preference I guess.

answer: my AIR goes with me in my backpack on day trips. I don't leave my computer anywhere! or my cameras. I even take a dress up purse so when I go to dinner I can take any valuables & passport with me to dinner without carrying anything bulky or obvious and ruin my fashionable attire (;-D).

It will not be safe at home. If you ship it to me I will take good care of it. For a small fee of course.
