uhhh, that seems like a great deal for a drive this size. But I know very little about how the Intel drives compare with Crucial or OWC SSDs, any thoughts?

The Intel SSDs were state-of-the-art a few years ago. But this is a dynamic field.

They have been more expensive than competition for so long I haven't kept track.
