Odds and the END! thanks for watching

How about a sandwich? Can't imagine how dry that bread must be!

Just an interesting building. I think I've discovered I love architecture.

Many of the streets are full of trash but this street was picturesque and clean!

Every activity was planned and passed on by the US/Cuban governments. Community Care groups were on the list. This is one where artists and musicians work with kids and get them doing something constructive. We all ended up dancing to Cuban music drinking mango juice. Then buying "art" in the old converted water tank. US citizens can only bring back "art". I was expecting immigration to ask questions but nada...just like coming home from any foreign country.

Typical street scene.

A kitty cat at lunch and more cars!

Washing is hung all over the buildings. Note that the small portion showing of the painted building with a delightfully delicate trim seems to be care for.

The next two pictures of buildings take me aback to the 50s and 60s. Their "modern" buildings all look of that era. We were shown "new" buildings but they looked like 1960.poiuytresaw

This picture is a former country club. It is kept up by the government now for their special athletes. I think it was a Swim and Tennis club.

Suzanne, I have really enjoyed all your photos and your narratives. I feel like I was almost along for the trip as well. I must say I have looked forward to the updates and am kind of sorry that we have come to the end now. Thanks again.

And if anyone is in NYC, New Jersey or parts of Florida do yourself a favor, if you haven't had one and try a real Cuban sandwich (El Cubano): Cuban bread (most important), butter, pickles roast pork, ham and Swiss cheese. Just unbelievable!

Nice collection of shots! Having been a teen in the 50's, I love the cars!

A great Cuban place in Coral Gables, I think, called the Cuban-American Restaurant (again, I think). It's just a counter and you stand and wait behind someone who looks like they'll be done soon. Haven't been there since the early 2000's but the food was great. Went there a couple times a week when I was working in Miami.
