Eric Whitacre's Virtual Choir - 'Lux Aurumque'

Lux Aurumque
From a poem (in English), "Light and Gold", by Edward Esch (1970-); translated to Latin by Charles Anthony Silvestri, and music for the Latin text composed by Eric Whitacre in 2000. English poem and Latin text are here:

(English)
Light,
warm and heavy as pure gold
and the angels sing softly
to the new-born baby.

(Latin, sung)
Lux,
calida gravisque pura velut aurum
et canunt angeli molliter
modo natum.

A personal note:
The choral group I sing with performed this last Saturday evening in a small hall in Bonshaw, PEI, and it was just as wonderful then as at all the concerts we have done last year and this. My daughter's soprano solo, while brief, is exquisite (and moves me to tears). The virtual choir will give a sense of the filling of the mind and spirit that performing the music can be for the singer(s).

Peace, all, and good night,
