Downton Abbey

Just started watching Season 1 on Netflix streaming last night. I like English period pieces, so this is right down my abbey.

I saw the Season 2 DVD set at Costco for $22 or something like that.

Quite good. Borrows heavily from Upstairs, Downstairs but I imagine most period soaps will be like that.

Bought both Series 1 and Series 2 Blu rays from Amazon.co.uk for a song earlier this year (something like $30 US for both with about $8 shipping). (Many Blu rays @ Amazon UK are region-free; this is especially good for BBC Series and Shows because the US releases are often truncated or missing key features -- like English Subtitles for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, which some of us need.)

I watched Season 1 In 2 nights on a set of disks borrowed from my local library.

I enjoyed S1 which I watched on Amazon Prime. S2, episode 1 was free but, they wanted to charge me for additional S2 episodes. I'm guessing that's because these episodes ran earlier this year?

Yup, more or less. S3 eps are currently in production, if I remember right.

Love this show! Season 3 begins in September in Britain, we have to wait until January (boo!)
And they've signed on for a 4th season too.
Someone once linked a way to watch the British version online but I can't find that now.

If you like Downton Abbey, seek out Upstairs Downstairs (the original 70s series).
