India closing tourists parks for Tiger viewing

All the Tiger viewing spots are being closed except one....and around the perimeter of the parks. They say the tiger population is suffering. I say great...except I have a national Geographic trip planned for next year that goes to one of those Tiger spots. Waiting now to see if it is cancelled.

I can give up a trip for a tiger because I've been to India and seen the highlights except for the tigers.

samintx- Have you done Africa ? My sister (curator of education at a major metropolitan zoo) runs an annual photo safari to the veldt during migration. She took our mother last summer... they had an AMAZING time. Mom saw pretty much the whole OSX kitty line, except the most recent, of course (but we'd seen those in the wild in the Rockies back in the 1960's ).

PM me if you're interested in the program.. Sis does a great job of teaching species knowledge, species survival, etc... the zoo does a lot of conservation and protection programs in Africa.

Just sneak into the parks on a dark night.

Saint Cloud, Minnesota, where the weather is wonderful even when it isn't.
