Guess what car was behind my little Scion at the Costco gas pumps tonight.

It was quite a contrast to see my little toaster shaped xB and the big silver Rolls Royce both getting gas at the Costco. First time I have seen one of those at the pumps.

I saw a spot in front of this car, so I pulled in front of it and noticed that it was a Rolls. Very quiet when he started it up to leave. I figured if he hit me as he left, he was probably good for any repairs. grinning smiley

Amazingly there is a junior at my high school who drives a Bentley. His parents are both physicians and have bought each of their children a Bentley when they turn 16 (this is the last child).

I keep waiting for some kid in a 1993 Ford Escort to back into one of them.

Too busy talking on your cell phone to say hello, huh?

I was going to say something to the guy about having both ends of the spectrum there, but he just kept yacking on his cell.

Never warmed to the xB either version, but I loved the xA (I'd prefer it over a Mini). The xD is just ugly!

You see that kind of thing in Alpharetta/Johns Creek/Milton. My wife used to be the doctor for a famous recording artist up there. He would show up for appointments in his Bentley. I believe he lived in Country Club of the South. He was shopping a reality show to VH1 but the idea didn't get picked up.

Yeah, I hear you. John Smoltz used to live about 200 yards from us, but since he and his wife got a divorce, I think he lives somewhere else now. grinning smiley He moved from St. Ives over near us, so he could buy 10 acres of land and build his own little resort. It h a small golf course, two or three holes, IIRC, huge house, pool, etc.

I wondered if the guy driving was the owner or an employee of the owner, who knows.

That is just so wrong, for so many reasons.

A college buddy's mom drove a Rolls, and one day she was backing out of a parking spot in a Beverly Hills parking lot, and crunched into another Rolls driven by another similar aged lady, backing out of her parking spot in the opposing ailse. Classic double blind spot accident. This was before cell phones, so they left the two Rolls' where they crunched, tying up the parking lot for quite awhile. The two gals kept talking, and laughing w/ each other while waiting for the cops and their insurance agents to sort things out, and low and behold, became fast friends; eventually socializing and travelling around the world together for several years after their "accidental" encounter.

Family values being instilled?
Somebody got a picture of the two Rolls' blocking the parking lot, and it made the local paper and TV news, as the other people that had been parked behind them, had to carefully back out of the lot in order to leave, while the rich gals cultivated their friendship. Something about entitlement... or the inequality thereof.

Back in the 90s when I lived in the Hague I would from time to time see an old Rolls Royce cab at the Hollands Spoor train station. Never rode in it but should have while I had the opportunity.
