Safari Troubles

I have installed ML and Safari 6.0. I keep getting unresponsive pages in Safari. When I tried to enter the subject for this message, I got one or two letters and then nothing. This happens on any text entry box on web sites. I get an error page from Apple that says that I had a web content error. I have thrown out the prefs (com.apple.Safari.plist), and that didn't fix anything.

Any suggestions? I hate Firefox, but.....

I get the same error. If I backspace it shows what was there. Probably a glitch.

Set up a new User account and test Safari 6 in that.

If same result, do a Safe boot then a normal reboot.

If it works then you know it's a preference problem or cache problem. You can empty cache by enabling the Developer menu bar, or you can reset Safari. Be sure you have a backup clone or current TM backup before trying this.

It's probably not the Safari cache, but it is a cache problem.

...

In the Finder, hold down the option key, click on the "Go" menu and select the Library folder. ("Library" only appears when you hold down the option key.)

In the Library folder, locate the "Caches" folder.

Move the contents of that folder to the trash.

Then restart your computer.

OK, I put the cache folder in the trash. We'll see how it goes. Thanks!

Nope. Still happening. Dang.

I've reset Safari too with the same result.

Hmm... Of the dozens of people I've encountered with the same symptom after upgrading, tossing the user caches has fixed it.

Did you try modelamac's test?

Maybe it's your parental controls or whatever it's called?

I'm trying Modelamaac's test right now. So far it's working.

As an update, I misread Modelamac's suggestion in early August. I just dumped the whole cache folder and we'll see how it goes.

Thanks!
