David Rackoff dies at 47

I hadn't heard of him until Terry Gross played some old interviews on Fresh Air. The guy was really funny, talented, and the best word I can come up with, human. He said he always thought his internal clock was set to be at his best from age 47-53. He was 47.

Very sad - an incredibly witty & funny guy who was able to talk about his cancer with a mix of humor and seriousness. I listened to the Fresh Air interviews twice yesterday and LOL'd when he described the characters he was type cast for when acting. Well worth a listen if you are not familiar with his work.

I literally LOL'd several times during the interview, which I rarely do.

47! That's awful.

I haven't read any of his work but I am going to make a point of it now that I've heard so much about his writing. I must have heard him on TAL but never connected the name to the person. I'm really bad at names. sad smiley

EDIT: Oh Jeebus, I know who he is. I had a serious mental blank going there. I have heard his pieces on dying on npr.
