Switching to Adobe Illustrator from Freehand wasn't easy for me -- I went kicking and screaming and don't want to go through that again to learn a new application. The last time I opened Freehand, I couldn't remember how all it's features worked.

Sorry to read that CS6 no longer opens Freehand files. :-(

I wish them luck, but I have too much time, energy and money wrapped up in learning (and buying) Illustrator over the past several years.

Give it up! It's over! Go home!

Nah, good software should live on. If only companies would open source their abandonware.

Used both in the early days.
In fact, learned bezier curves using ALDUS Freehand, Illustrator, Flash, as well as Corel Draw. Even visited the Aldus offices near Pioneer Square in Seattle.

But even back then, Adobe was the one company really listening to the professional designers, and Illustrator was soon the best of the pack. Glad they survived.
