Now this is hilarious: Organic Tobacco
Posted by: freeradical

Quote

Hestia Tobacco positions itself as the first truly independent organic cigarette company, and there are a number of strong elements to the pitch. It starts very clearly with David Sley introducing himself, the company and a three-pronged investment thesis. What he has created is an organic cigarette company, aimed at the young, socially conscious market that still engages in smoking.

Mr. Sley seems to know precisely who his customer is: hipsters who shop at “farmers markets and vinyl record stores.” I have a clear picture of who that consumer is — but the size of the market seems a little fuzzy. He claims there are 20 million smokers between the ages of 18 and 35, but how many of those smokers fit the hipster mold?

it gives you organic lung cancer.

Be here now. Be someplace else later. Is that so complicated?

LOL.

I'm sure there are people who are going to feel as if the lack of chemical additives and whatnot make the cigarettes a bit more benign. As if.

If I were ever to even consider smoking tobacco, it would have to be something with no additives. I can't imagine all the crap that goes into the average cigarette helps reduce the risk of cancer.

They actually add a noxious substance to keep cigarettes from going out on their own. Wonder how many fire deaths that's responsible for?

This correlates to when my daughter's new agey friends whine "It's Natural" and I happily look at them and state "Well, Arsenic is also found naturally. Do you eat THAT ? "

And then my daughter and I laugh at them.

nothing wrong with having an occasional cigarette or cigar

its actually quite nice since i am not a regular smoker
i would be interested in this.. for flavor sake.

p.s. they are forgetting about the old guy, penny pincher, republican demographic who buys exclusively off iTunes/Amazon MP3 or if i have to get a CD i get it from Amazon at the lowest price i can find it and buys in bulk from Sams or Costco instead of farmer's markets...

It's like having a cruise missile with a nuclear warhead with engines that have noise-reduction technology in order to not disturb the neighborhoods it flies over on the way to the target.

The target group is those that spend (extra) on American Spirit brand, pitched as additive/preservative-free, w/new age American Indian graphics on pkg, etc.

(I've told my smoking friend who is loyal to that brand, that their all pure tobacco content probably just equates to more tar & nicotine to kill him faster...)

edit: just read the article, and saw they did not miss the Am Spirit connection...

While you're chugging down a glass of arsenic laced drinking water ? :-)

Organic farming is easier on the environment.
Synthetic pesticide manufacturers can't be happy.
Whereas nicotine is still a carcinogen there are dozens and dozens of others in the swill cocktail of additives in regular smokes.

Supposedly easier to quit the habit if you switch to these for a while first too.

You gotta have those organic carcinogens,
not chemical or fake carcinogens
