K-Cup users, anyone try the the new "generic" brands?

Now that the K-Cup technology is off patent, generic K-Cups are supposed to be flooding the market. I have noticed a SanFrancisco blend of generic K-Cups at Costco, but haven't tried them yet, as I have a stock pile of K-Cups that I got on sale.

The price for the Costco generic was about 31¢ a cup, which is a lot cheaper than the Green Mountain originals. Has anyone taste tested any of the generics yet? If so, are they good and do you have any recommendations for brand and flavor?

I bought the San Francisco / French Roast via Amazon a while back. I thought it was good and better than some of the other 'name brands' out there right now. I definitely like the price.

rgC,

I've tried a couple and noticed a couple of trends. One is that some generic k-cups don't have regular coffee in it. Rather they have a small amount of micro-ground instant coffee. It's horrible. But, one generic k-cup that has been around for several months is from Rogers Family Co:

I like these quite a bit and the other types are very good, too. As someone said, it'd be nice if they were individually wrapped. However, it's nota big concern. I take them out of their original box and plastic packaging and put them into an air tight plastic container which immediately goes into the fridge.

I tried an aftermarket k-cup called Disposakups but returned them due to a flawed design that poses a danger to anyone using them. Avoid at all costs. Other "refillable" k-cup alternatives are more trouble than their worth. Tried a few, won't use them.

I still buy my usual k-cups in bulk from online retailers, i.e. coffeegiant.com, alpinevalleycoffee.com but have definitely added the San Francisco Bay line from Rogers Family Co into the mix. They're readily available at the local supermarket and online. Typically, I'll by my usual coffee online and the San Francisco Bay cofee from the local store.

The San Francisco Bay coffee from Rogers is definitely worth a look.

Good to know. I will be giving it a try, once my stash is used up.
