OT: NFL offseason talk, player moves, Smith to KC, Boldin to 49er and more

I like Smith to KC, he will much more steady than Quinn and Cassel.

49ers sign Boldin, how strange to go from being the champ to being on the team you beat to win it.

Jets add yet another QB in hopes that stitching all 5 of them together will result in one good qb.

I had Smith going to Dallas. Methinks Jerry Jones will come to regret not making that move.

With the onslaught of new rules to protect players, it will be hard to predict the effect of player movement. Defense phenoms are going to find the "new" NFL a different place in which to ply their trade.

Offense coaches are ecstatic at the prospects.

Jones will stick with Romo until the bitter end and that is horrible. Romo doesn't have what it takes to make it to the SB let alone with 3 playoff games in a row.

Alex Smith grew on me. Hope he has good luck in KC.

KC doesn't have the oomp or jen e se quoi to attract or surround a Q/B with top notch talent. Given a choice to play for Manning in New York, Brady in New England or Smith in KC, what would you do?

Brady and Manning are fading talents.

They may be fading a bit but if their defenses had bit a bit better, one of them would have been in the SB this year. If Manning's safety had played the deepest man, they would have beat the Ravens.

Weird but this is the 2nd year the 49ers took a receiver from the team that beat them in the postseason - last year they took Manningham from the Giants. And technically, two Giants went to the 49ers last year (Jacobs too).

After a really strong playoff performance, traded from brother to brother for only a 6th round pick. Not illegal, but seems a bit unsavory to me.

He wasn't a team player and didn't want to be here. Better to get something for him than have him walk or play mediocre.

Yeah, I understand Baltimore's motivation to move him.
The unsavory part is how it went down— this was clearly a backdoor deal between two brothers, but that's not illegal so...

As a Giants fan, I'm very unhappy that they are willing, for an admittedly high price, to let Victor Cruz go. My favorite guy on that team, a huge fan favorite, and a great story. Aside from that, I have doubts about how healthy Hakeem Nicks is going to be. The off-season foot injury was an issue all season and was followed by a knee injury. I doubt that he's going to be the same guy again.

I'm sure the players' union would have something to say about any activity they suspect isn't on the up and up.
