OT: Sign of spring #2- birdie nest building !

I sat and watched a Robin desperately try to pull a long string that I use to tie back an inside plant to a tree when it's outside. She carefully gathered the string one loop at a time in her beak, and then tried to fly off with it . But it's nailed to a tree. It was like watching a fish fight a line .

I felt bad. I got some cotton string and cut it into shorter sections, and replaced the line with loose string.

She just came back and collected it all, chirping happily.

I'm going to find an old spool of colored yarn and offer that up next. I wonder what this nest will look like ?

Like a lunch counter for larger birds.

Saint Cloud, Minnesota, where the weather is wonderful even when it isn't.

Black - is there available cover nearby ? Bushes, or trees with close branches ? Birdies like to feel they can escape easily if need be.
